Welcome to our Key Stage four options page, which will provide you with information about the curriculum offered at Sackville for years 10 to 11 from September 2026.
Apart from our Super Curriculum options taken in year 9, this is the first real opportunity our students have to personalise their curriculum. This can be both an exciting and anxious prospect. However, as with all other important transition times, we are here to support students through every step of the process.
Building upon the breadth and depth of learning experienced across KS3 (years 7-9), we offer a broad KS4 curriculum, with a wide range of both GCSE and vocational options.
When you are fully engaged in your learning, you are much more likely to go on to achieve your full potential and we want to bring out the very best in each and every one of our students. The subjects they select will form a large part of their timetable for the next two years, so it is important that they take note of their interests, strengths, skills and abilities when identifying their preferences.
With excellent outcomes in year 11, the majority of our students go on to gain entry into our vibrant and successful Sixth Form and there are clear progression routes from our key stage 4 into our post-16 curriculum.
When the time comes, we want our students to leave us with the skills, confidence and attributes to not only contribute as good citizens of the future but to help create it. That is asking something special but we believe in our students and for each and every one of them, that anything is possible.
This term year 9 will be making some important decisions. They will need to work closely with you and their teachers in order to make sensible subject choices for their KS4 courses, which start in September 2025 when they begin year 10.
We have planned a thorough options programme that will support students through this important process. This is outlined below:
We would like to take this opportunity to wish students and their families all the best as we begin this process together, and support our young people to make the best choices so that they may achieve fulfilment and success in this next phase of their education.
