For Sackville Students, the Extra-Curricular Enrichment program is the vital complement to your academic journey. Reflecting the school's motto of "Together We Achieve" and its core values of respect and kindness, these activities—from clubs and sports to performing arts and volunteering—are where personal growth truly accelerates.
The enrichment program is designed to spark your curiosity, encouraging you to explore new skills and interests outside of the standard curriculum. Through commitment to a team, a project, or a performance, Sackville students develop a strong sense of ambition, setting challenging personal goals and working diligently to achieve them.
Crucially, in a safe and inclusive community, these activities foster essential life skills. You will practice vital teamwork and collaboration, echoing the 'Together We Achieve' spirit. The environment encourages positivity, teaching you to approach challenges with optimism and support those around you.
Participation also strengthens character: maintaining fair play and honesty instils a deep sense of integrity, while learning from setbacks in competition or performance builds crucial resilience. By providing varied platforms open to all, the program actively promotes equity in opportunity. Ultimately, through sustained effort and dedication within the enrichment program, every Sackville Student is guided towards achieving excellence in their chosen pursuit, preparing them for future success in life and learning.

At Sackville School, our enrichment program exemplifies our commitment to cultural capital: every student is given the chance to discover something new beyond the classroom. From lunchtime clubs to after-school sessions and residential trips, students can explore a wide variety of activities; whether that’s joining the KS3 Book Club, developing musical skills in the Music Production Club, trying outdoor adventures like rowing, or gaining life and career-enhancing experiences through initiatives like Duke of Edinburgh qualifications. These opportunities foster independent learning, soft skills, and a deep appreciation for the world around them, ensuring every student engages with at least one enriching experience each term.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a prestigious, internationally recognised program that encourages personal development and leadership in young people. At our school, students have the opportunity to participate in the Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels of the award, each challenging them to engage in physical activities, volunteer in their communities, learn new skills, and complete adventurous expeditions. The award promotes resilience, teamwork, and self-confidence, offering valuable experiences that extend beyond the classroom. We are proud to support our students on this rewarding journey of growth and achievement.

Learning for Life at Sackville School is an age-appropriate, tutor‑led programme delivered during extended tutor-time sessions on Wednesday mornings. It’s designed to equip students with the knowledge and values they need to thrive in today’s world fostering independence, responsibility, health, safety, respect, and tolerance. By building on previous learning each year, the curriculum ensures students are well-prepared for the challenges and opportunities ahead, including life after school and entering the world of work.

As a school we firmly believe in a broad educational experience for all our students. Each summer in July we hold an enhancement week which consists of three full days where the normal timetable is cancelled and students in Years 7, 8 and 9 opt for activities which develop an area of keen interest. These range from residential trips abroad and locally to focussed opportunities such as horse riding, golf, science exploration and many others. In 2025 we offered a choice of over 20 opportunities for students to choose from.
We especially value the ability for them to develop their teamwork, resilience, and curiosity within these days, as well as ambition and excellence; so many of our core values. We also want to give the students an opportunity to mix with other year groups in these activities, helping to develop a greater sense of the whole school community.
